As I've said previously, people who call for civility in politics usually reside in the epicentre of centrism. They want people back in their box to take their medicine.

Civility is also the way to have a discussion that may lead to people changing their views. Without it you have shouty lefties in their echo chamber and shy tories not willing to discuss their issues for fear of being shunned. The same goes for shouty remainers and shy brexiteers
