People mocking women wearing full make up is usually class snobbery, a hill I am very happy to die on.

I get this too. And the patronising interest in what your makeup routine is, where they act really surprised like anyone could be bothered, and act like they’ve never heard of urban decay
-
I also hate “But you don’t need it!” I know? I enjoy applying and wearing it. This colleague recently told me “gosh you look beautiful without make up, all vulnerable. Like I want to fuck and protect you.” And was surprised I was offended and said no to a date. Gross man.

Poshos at my uni had a chav themed social where half the girls looked smarter than they usually did, which I wasn't sure was their point.
-
Yep; freshers had a “dress as a chav!” night. Probably the reason I avoided union nights from the off.

The posh ones don't truly understand the appeal and power of big hair.
