Well first of all thanks for asking me - much better than aggressive quote tweeting. I think austerity very much deserves scrutiny from an authoritative outsider. I don't this is it. He undermines himself by adopting a polemical tone.

It reads (going from Anoosh's summary) like a heated Guardian op-ed, not a sober, judicious report, which would have been more damning. It's full of conjecture about motivation. For a fact-finder, it seems long on opinion and short on facts.
