Historical note. In 1947 bread, potatoes and petrol were rationed. What we had after 2008 was not "austerity"

My best analogy is that austerity was like being told that you had to not use electricity 20 hours of the day, having lights off, TV and computer off, unable to cook or dry your hair, to save the environment, while realising rich people just left every electric item on all day.

He's right though. Austerity is a lie, the Gov's excuse, it has always been a lie. Austerity would have affected *everyone*. It doesn't. The correct word for what is happening now is Subjugation of those the Tories choose to Subjugate.

In 1947, the rich too were subject to rationing, at least in theory, doubtless they were able to circumvent the policy. The rich have become obscenely wealthy in the last 10 years.

Well said, although it's more like the last 40 years and I say that not to let the Tories off but to say that Blair did practically everything they would have wanted during his 10 years. Average house price 1997 - 58k 2007 - 182k Average wage 1997 - 19k 2007 - 25k Need Corbyn

He's right in a way though, it wasn't austerity. It was redistribution of wealth from the poor to the rich and a big con.

Rationing was because there was a shortage of food, today there is plenty of food it's just not many people can afford it.
