Annoyed at myself after a bloke made a really creepy and inappropriate comment to me in a work context and I was too shocked to reply. Then asked male friends if they thought it was off, rather than if women would have takrn it the same way.

This is very familiar to me, and, I suspect, all women. We are people and people generally think the best of others: so it is hard to instantly see it for what it is. The more it is discussed the better we will be at dealing with it: but shame and disbelief too often silence us.

The other thing is that there seems to be a time limit on reaction. I don't know why one must get it right instantly or not at all. Public response after time to reflect ought to be better, not worse. Why is that?

The fact that it's shocking gives the guy a weird kind of impunity - I think a lot of guys know this & trade on it.
