At least when market or gov fail to correct, we can fall enter the courts and make our case. If there was a monopoly on bakeries, it’d be one thing but with the creation of new industries, social media, the law has to play catch up because we are dealing with a new animal.

Maybe but the same holds true - the gov is supposed to protect the consumer. If it takes 5 years to fix it, they’re incompetent.

It’d be nice if legislation could preempt future problems, but to some extent it is natural to let things play out first before correcting. On the other hand, when these companies started buying eachother out I think much more alarm should’ve been raised. But,

certainly no one worth their salt are arguing that markets are divinely perfect, otherwise it wouldn’t be necessary to embed it in a larger set of (also imperfect) structures of gov and law to keep the whole system running as best as it can.
