How does analytics library abstraction work? 1. User activity triggers analytics.track() 2. Events run through plugins 3. Data is validated, redacted, enriched, or even cancelled 4. Data is then sent to your own backend or any third party provider ✨

Some good info here in local development for . My general rule is to stay away from local emulators past what sam local offers. You spend too much time getting it to work and then have to worry if the bugs you find are your code or the emulator.

Since we in the community talk about the productivity gains of adopting serverless, has anyone attempted to quantify those gains in their organization? If so, how?

Infrastructure as code is insanely important Being able to deploy an entire stack deterministically into as many environments as you want with a single command is raw ops power No more sharing environments or stepping on each other toes Integration testing also becomes easier

We're working in 2020 on building a better home for *all* content from but in the meantime check our ICYMI quarterly posts for the best summarizations of what's happened in that time period: We've done these now for the past 2 years

🚀 Technical Design Patterns for SaaS (A thread) Goals: • Fantastic end-user experience • Build as little as possible • Speedy development • System resiliency • Easy for a solo dev First part is a specific stack, but the rest is stack-agnostic.

Use proxies in dev to guard against potentially missing styles. Also use linting & stuff for warning etc. This is handy for ensuring style refactors don't result in undefined class names 👉

CI/CD is the purest example of Conway's Law. Your CI/CD pipeline will be broken and messy in *exactly* the same ways that your engineering org is broken and messy.

"Cloud-native", like "DevOps", is an organizational mindset, not a technology. You can't buy a box of it, no matter how many people will try to sell it to you.

Did you know you can implement app analytics in dev mode w/o connecting to an external data source? When ready install an analytics source plugin, then telemetry flows into your third party tools (e.g. / / your service / etc)
