Thats rubbish - family haulage company was transporting brake parts across in EU b4 single market and it wasnt a big deal.
Maybe someone was doing the paper work for you? Old livestock haulier I spoke to says it was a paperwork nightmare before single market.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3583801.stm … Were you driving Lorry across EU before UK access to SM prior to 1973? Supply chains and trade very different now
Started europe deliveries early 1990s when paperwork needed,no big deal. Funny old docu here showing haulage pre euhttps://youtu.be/llQUrH8eEHM
Btw not suggesting this film is a template for the future - just a reminder that European trade & transport predates EU membership!
Thanks for answer. Agree, but world moved on. Firms will have paper work like from March 2019 http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/business/calculation-customs-duties/rules-origin/introduction_en … and not just from EU
Not that bad:a company did paperwork 4 small fee, driver collected in port, on long list of things complained about this was low. Gd film tho
