Great move Bird, it seems like they are thinking 10 steps ahead and providing the necessary tools for local governments to manage the e-scooters. It´s a shame Bird did not win the San Francisco Municipal Transportation e-scooter pilot sweepstakes.

Just in case you REALLY want the gov't to know your exact location and whether or not you are speeding, nevermind giving hackers/tweakers something else to play with.

Skip prioritized municipal relations heavily, and seems like that worked out handily for them in SF.

It'd turn out to be 'in vogue' for other start-ups across transportation space to engage with Gov/local bodies.

This is some next level control that the government will have. Also a great opportunity to gather data and learn more about movement and the needs of the citizens when it comes to mobility.

No mention of rider privacy or anonymization, but what are @BirdRide's measures therein? I assume their use of "aggregated" data means no user-level... But is there assurance of permanace in that policy? (Yes I know public transit has its own [limited] capabilities too...)

Totally believe in this. Although it’s worth considering how government should interact with new tech + city design dynamics
