The Sun isn't the only place to find naturally occuring antimatter. You can also harvest it in a belt 2000 km above the Earth where it collects along magnetic field lines channeling antiprotons formed by cosmic rays colliding with the upper atmosphere.

Suprisingly, a single solar flare can create half-a-kilogram of antimatter (enough to produce 50,000,000 megawatts of energy) as fast-moving particles accelerated by the flare collide with slower ones in the solar atmosphere

Peter Watts imagined a giant space station collecting naturally occuring antimater from solar flares (channeled to the poles along magnetic field lines). It would beam streams of anti-particles to the rest of the solar system, serving as a source of incredible power.

Gosh all of her painted calculators are so beautiful did you see the other videos?

Tiktok is interesting. No login req & instntly loads fullpage swiping videos (in loop with reco-algos). UX is seamless & lean. Older social media suddenly feels stale. It's clear why it's succeeding & it's not magic. Ancient Greek theater is back and it's in our pockets.

Staring out a bird's window, at an endless abyss of city stars. Horizon-to-horizon. I imagine the first light bulb. Wondrous. Beautiful. Now forming landscapes beneath me. Me. In a screaming beast of pressurized composites, searing across the dark, at six miles per minute.

There's a physics to truth, an optics to it even. Truth can interact just like waves. Multiple truths can cancel out or add together. Truth can diffract across the gaps in our minds & dreams. Moving through places that seem too small to travel & being transformed in the process.

Once I took for granted the idea of singular & discrete truth. I thought truth was like a particle or a jewel, & now realize truth is more like light (a wave) & we're all mirrors & prisms. Waves are flying in every direction, the air is filled with them & they never collide.

Here's a raw version of the story by my favorite translator Burton Watson. I highly recommend his translations of all the Ancient Chinese Classics.

The Chinese legend of “Cook Ting” spoke of a man who cut meat for 19 years using the same knife & never had to sharpen it twice. He moved the edge along the carcass, angling it ever-so-right & then the blade would just-fall-through without touching a bone, ligament, or joint.

According to ancient Chinese "School of Names" the opposite of pointing at something is arriving at it!

The "Venetian Shipyards" were essentially a functioning micro-society of the future (existing 500 years in the past). We should ask ourselves "What new and wild forms of 'Venetian Shipyards' could exist today which might not otherwise occur for another 500 years?"

The future doesn't need to arrive on time, it can also come early. In the 1500s the Venetian Shipyards had 16,000 people w modern industrial assembly lines assembling new & large naval vessels every-single-day.
