Of course this is a racist and gross excuse for voter suppression. But also worth noting that a largely uninformed voter will make better and more moral decisions than actively misinformed voters whipped up on hate by cultic organs of disinformation.https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1371165615164162051 …

Just because everyone has the right to vote does not mean everyone *should* vote. If your vote would be entirely uninformed, you should - as a responsible citizen - choose not to vote. https://twitter.com/gelliottmorris/status/1371164989076205570 …

Multiple studies have shown that someone who watches almost no news at all has a better idea of what's going on than someone who watches hours of Fox News. To say nothing of the fact that their political views will likely be far less depraved.

Who gets to decide who is sufficiently informed? I’m sure those who stormed the Capitol because of false election fraud misinformation thought they were informed. This is beyond irresponsible. He should delete this immediately.

Each voter decides if they are sufficiently informed. If I don't feel like I have enough knowledge to decide which candidate to vote for in a local race, I leave that part of my ballot blank.

@baseballcrank Reminds me of the old lady that chastised the radio host for using the word “bipedal”. She said he was being vulgar. “Lady, the only thing that’s vulgar is your mind.”

If you have a cell phone with internet capability there is no excuse not to be informed & if you don't, libraries & schools do. No library-you need one-learning is a right-fight for it. Ignorance is what dictators us to keep people down under heel.

I noticed that many replies believe you initiated the race discussion. However, by clicking through to the original tweet that was quote-tweeted by @baseballcrank the term "Jim Crow" was used. One of the replies to that tweet explains how Jim Crow applies.https://twitter.com/UnhitchingHour/status/1371227905049628673?s=19 …

        Cwill added,

        Reid A. Aronson @UnhitchingHour
        Replying to @mikedaitch @gelliottmorris
“Uniformed people shouldn’t vote” was the asserted justification for the poll taxes, literacy tests, and grandfather clauses that were designed to prevent Black people from voting during Jim Crow.
