The Oath Keepers were founded on bad faith. they were always about that internal contradiction to American "libertarianism": they were all for mass mobilization of the military for border control!

It’s sad that any of us let them or the NRA hide behind the “tyranny” euphemisms when it’s been clear for years, if not decades, that they use it to describe opposition to Republicans, e.g. Democrats in position of power and their voters.

These guys think that as long as they can "plausibly" deny being anti-black racists, they won't be seen as the white pan-nationalists/supremacists they are. That's true of the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and their ilk, and Donald Trump.
