In the way back machine, Republican congress passed a law that Prez could not fire person Senate had approved. Then overrode Prez veto. Prez fired such a person. Congress impeached Prez. Not convicted. Law later thrown out by SCOTUS as unconstitutional-Andrew Johnson was Prez.
