Why is it a weird take? It's Trump's argument (and almost every Republican's argument) against Obama negotiating the Iran deal. It happens to be an accurate take.

I'd argue there should be some concessions. In all likelihood this is another con job by the North Koreans.

It is, in my opinion, a bargaining chip for the DPRK. Even if they give up the physical weapons and go through the whole process, they have the know-how to continue in the future.

Could be. But my guess is they won't give up the weapons because then the focus is on what a horrible regime they are starving their own people.

What is the point of all of this then? They get nothing if they refuse to stop. Then they're a crazy, nuclear-capable regime who are starving their people.
