Paul Ryan told people not to vote for Trump the week of the election. Let me know when Trump goes that far, I guess. Congressional Republicans have made their own bed on this, too late to blame Trump for it

I'm not sure that this is accurate. But your point on the Post Office revenue v profit is (obviously.)
-
if you meant the Ryan thing, Trump campaigned in Wisconsin on election day and Ryan didn't go to the rally. Said he was "done defending him" etc etc. I didn't think it was in dispute
-
Done defending doesn't equal telling people not to vote for him.
-
he wouldnt even say Trump's name when he was talking about the election, the week of the election. kept saying "our nominee". come on dude
-
Given the controversy swirling around POTUS after the tapes that is understandable. The strategy worked.
-
yes, given the controversy, Ryan telling people not to vote for Trump is understandable. Me saying that's what he did is also understandable. Trump's strategy worked, Ryan's failed, because he didn't want Trump to be elected and made that obvious
-
He never explicitly campaigned against him. Both House Rs & Trump won, so I'd say both came out winners.

The problem with this argument is it doesn't address the merits of the criticism, which is richly deserved and commonly held by the base.
-
The merits of the criticism aren't the point. The political impacts of the criticism are. I'm not dismissing the criticism, but that's another story.

@jimbearnj. If they would act like Republicans and do their job, this wouldn't happen. I am a conservative through and through but when I registered to vote here in FL, I'm#Independent.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Maybe Ryan and Republicans should have focused on passing their voters priorities & own campaign promises. Just a tax cut for two years of control is pathetic.
@SpeakerRyan is a sellout loser &@HouseGOP should lose for lying.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

The Republicsns breaking their promises and opposing Trump are hurting the GOP and the base is angered and discouraged by them. Why elect RINOs who give the middle finger salute to the base?

That might make sense if GOP was more than social club for Chamber of Commerce types rather than a real political party. What's the use of blindly electing sellouts like McCain, Flake, Corker, Hraham and now Romney? Trump is in a two front war in DC and must attack RINOs too.

If he loses the House, which goes on to harass him, he'll be quick to blame everyone else.

But it is ALL of Comgress, not just Republicans. What have any of them done to garner praise? There's lots of grandstanding, but no statesmanship.

Life long Democrat Trump is still a Democrat. Trump said on CNN 2004 he considers himself a Democrat. When Trump says Republican, it is like a pejorative. Have head Trump refer to Republicans as They.
