I thought Bolton was a good UN Ambassador & I don't get the hostility towards him

I get it but I don't agree w/ it.
-
I literally don't get it at all. I don't even know what the objection is supposed to be. That he was pro-Iraq war or something? I never heard the guy say anything I didn't think was obvious common sense during the Bush years, what's the knock on him?
-
People are worried he's predisposed to military action. Because, intellectually, he often believes it should be used when others don't - doesn't shy away from recommending military action. Some are worried he will make that recommendation to Trump.
-
isn't that true of anyone who's served a Republican in the last 40 years though?
-
Not to the degree that Bolton talks about the necessity or willingness to use force. I think a lot of this is about rhetoric & style. He just doesn't mince words - others do & therefore sound more cautious. I'm just explaining here - on balance I'm with you on this.
-
yeah i'm not arguing, its just something i seriously have never understood. its not like Colin Powell or whoever was against military action as a general rule

Our worry is Bolton will get us into a few more wars … and Trump won’t be smart enough to realize it until too late.
