#crumbs (not a good message) -
Not proposing a PR strategy, stating the obvious. I believe, as if anyone cares, this is simply a move to get China to open their economy. They are teetering on the edge. 300 mil ppl, supporting 1.3 billion. 30 mil living in caves. Empty cities.
-
This will not get China to open their economy.

US is 25% of world GDP. They are attacking on every front, military, cyber, econ, colonization. New deal with India, NAFTA renegotiation of cancellation will kill their steel industry. Dumping in Canada and Mex. for US sale is huge to China.
-
This argument is not compelling because other countries, inclu China, can not be counted on to act in a way we would consider rational. That's only one part of this debate, but to answer your point.

According to Wilbur Ross about $200 per car. Small price to pay to protect our national security and to grow well-paying manufacturing jobs that sustain a middle class in the country.
-
The
#crumbs message here is not going to be politically compelling to middle class suburbanites. But beyond that there are the jobs it would hurt that are of concern. If it was just an argument about lowering prices & increasing jobs & growth it would be a better sell -
So you disagree that maintaining a steel industry in our country is vital to national security? Because steel dumping by the Chinese and other countries IS decimating our steel industry.

But, the pundits are saying “only a few pennies more”, and it means more jobs. It won’t.
