2 million free loaders who only used it because it is free and would've gotten better, faster service if they'd taken the bus.

The bus is not better. Yes it goes farther, so it can be depending on where you're going. But the X2 can sit thru multiple light changes loading & unloading passengers. Often faster to walk.

Of *course* the bus is better, when given the right resources. $200+m for a 2 mile streetcar line or $200+m for more express buses—which one would serve the city better?

I was a streetcar skeptic for years (my tweets are still back there somewhere to prove it), but I've warmed to it since it started running. I think it shows great promise. Doesn't have to be an either/or with buses.

It brings in zero revenue, and there are no plans for how to change that. As a matter of urban planning and smart transport, it's insanity. The best argument for the streetcar is basically: "It's kinda neat!"

I'm just here to say the bus is never better. Costs & financing are another matter, but the bus is always worse than just about any option imaginable.
