No one in the media is going to call out cook for changing a lean r to tossup, not a soul among them. As long as dems can get their “tossup” headline he will get all the praise in the world. Wasn’t there a nyt article just last week about “its time the left played dirty?”

There's nothing to call out. Forecasters look at polling & early voting & a whole bunch of data and make their call. It's a forecast. If they're wrong too often people stop listening & they're out of a job.

Is there any indication as to how or why such a reliably red district would have such a shift? I don’t think “trump” is the answer, he has a high approval among republican voters. I think this is a massive psyops from the left to dispirit gop voters in hopes they won’t turn out

This sort of thing happens in midterms that are backlashes against the president. Happened to Dems in 2010; happened to Rs in 2006.

I find the timing of this news suspect. The same day it comes out he’s all for baby butchering at the 20 week mark they put this out along with fundraising numbers.
