It’s a disservice to tell these student activists that the NRA is standing in the way of gun-related legislation. The NRA’s pull derives from its millions of members who are committed voters. Their opinions on the 2A drive GOP votes in Congress, not NRA $$

The NRA does indeed block gun-related legislation by pushing propaganda to its members, scaring them into thinking every conceivable action on gun safety is a mortal threat the 2nd Amendment and their actual lives. If people kill people, not guns, why not regulate people?

& your claim that the NRA's contributions have zero impact on legislators' votes is patently false (best case conjecture). IMO this is a deeply irresponsible summary judgment for a voice on outlets who claim to have journalistic integrity. Pick facts, not sides.
