Tragedy happens. GOP responds w thoughts, prayers, says it’s too soon to act,GOP attacks survivors as pawns or actors. Say it is a mental health issue while gutting care, DEMs say let’s do something. What conclusion should the kids reach other than GOP thinks status quo is ok?

The students seem to be demanding elected officials participate, and then suggest we swap out those elected officials who refuse to participate. If all the ones refusing are Rs, it's not the students' fault.

Nothing wrong with this. But if the argument is 'evil' vs. 'disagreement' Republican voters will be alienated & those Rs that aren't ousted will be harder to convince to come around. fwiw

Of course, the answer it to just be nicer to Republicans. That is sure to be an effective strategy.
