A point of agreement between @BarackObama & @realDonaldTrump (although Trump continues to spend in the Middle East despite this criticism.) =>>https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/963031666150313984 …
I remember that & the policy was highly questionable, to say the least. But on the issue I raised, there is a direct comparison to make, in both policy & rhetoric.

I also don't think there's much of a comparison between spending a Trillion on "shovel ready jobs" that never appear and solar panel subsidies for companies that immediately go under vs actually building pipelines, roads, bridges, etc. Reality matters, results matter
-
If Trump gets results than you'll be right on this. Right now we don't know what the results will be.
-
It would be impossible to waste it more completely than Obama did so I'll take my chances on saying Trump will do better
-
And I'm not criticizing that. But I want to be clear here what the criticism is & what it isn't.
-
The US is selling oil to the Middle East today, in Trump's second year. I just think there are real differences in Trump's results on infrastructure already that you're overlooking to make a hypothetical argument
-
There are real potential differences. You & agree on a lot. I was making one specific comparison which I think it's interesting & holds up.
-
How is our infrastructure worse than ever if Obama agreed and pivoted 8 years ago though, that's my point. Obama didn't "agree" because he didn't do anything except kick money back to his contributors

i don't think there's a comparison between shipping Iran cash money to kill us with, while losing vs ISIS, or spending the same or less to beat both of them.
-
That's not what his $7T comment was referring to. But on that comparison I agree w/ you.

GWB handed Obama a stable Iraq and a stable Afghanistan and Obama ruined both, while also ruining Syria and Libya to boot. Now Trump is fixing Iraq, Afghanistan & trying to fix Syria. Saying "lol well I guess they agree then on the Mid East then" is totally divorced from reality
-
Obama & Trump both agree on pre-Obama Iraq/Middle East strategy & it's unclear that Trump would have differed from Obama's pullout strategy, which I agree w/ you was in error. I'm judging by Trump's own assertions.
-
Obama's "pull out strategy" was to turn the region over to Iran deliberately and ISIS incidentally, while toppling the govt of Libya and calling it a day. Even Hillary thought it was crazy, be serious
