The dishonesty of some on the right is unbelievable. They touted the Wells Fargo bonuses/raises a few weeks ago, but now WF will close 800 branches, and all you hear is crickets from these dishonest partisans (example
@guypbenson@AG_Conservative) -
Partisans going to partisan. But it's possible A) Tax bill didn't help, B) W/out tax bill you'd have closures & no bonsuses C) Ideology colors interpretation but one is being honest as they see it. Disclosure: You're not going to convince me
@guypbenson is "dishonest" -
Good points, David. But
@guypbenson has a narrative to push. Maybe we can call it something else. But if you're going to tout the "good news" and attribute it to a specific event, them don't ignore the "bad news". Otherwise, you're just pushing ONE narrative. -
It would depend on how a fan of the tax bill responds when presented w/ counter evidence. I haven't seen his comments on this but it's not like he never criticizes the Right. He does - plenty.

Yeah. Biggest problem that I see in the media (specifically, CNBC). They will report that company X gave $1000 bonus. They neglect to mention it only applies to handful of people. Later on, they'll give clarifying tweet, but by that time, BS PR becomes the CW.
