Which is why I said, to quote
@billyjoel: “It’s a matter of trust.” -
and considering Republican leadership promised a January vote on Dream/DACA in December. Not sure what trust there is or should behttp://www.cnn.com/2017/12/20/politics/flake-daca-senate-vote/index.html …

On the other hand, Dems don't appear to have the upper hand politically, & the longer this goes the worse it could go. This is not 2013.
-
if that is true I am not sure what is different on Feb 8 though... We went through this exercise a month ago. Ds blinked, passed a CR. If they cave to a promise what changes in 3 weeks? At some point you have to make a stand, no?
-
How far are you willing to take this? Rs won' budget. That's doesn't help DACAs either. In 2013, Rs said time to take a stand. Obama was never going to budget, Rs capitulated because they were losing argument w/ voters.
-
i mean this is not my choice. I think Ds are happy to have the government open on a short term (3-5 days) basis but the pressure needs to be kept up. Nothing happens in Congress unless there is a deadline and urgency.

And that's where it all breaks down. Trust. Trust Stephen Miller?

I don’t trust Mitch McConnell. Remember the promises he made to Susan Collins contingent on her voting ‘yes’ to the tax bill? He has yet to fulfill those promises
