The issue is: Where are the voters that don't like the tax bill. Danger for Rs is rejection by upscale voters in GOP-leaning suburban swing districts. SALT & other provisions have a lot to do w/ this. =>https://twitter.com/guypbenson/status/940606215620612097 …

Democrats/media have convinced 52% of the public that tax reform will hurt their personal finances. 75-80% of Americans will get a tax cut & an after-tax income boost under the legislation. Perhaps a lot of folks will notice they've been lied to at some point. https://twitter.com/amyewalter/status/940605080981659648 …

No. The issue is that the bill is bad for Americans who are not wealthy. After this bill passes (if it does) the numbers will continue to get worse.

I'm not actually sure that's the case. Issue is "working wealthy" (h/t @JohnAvlon ) - they make a lot of money but are not "rich." What about them? That's danger for Rs.

Agreed. There is a divide when it comes to that which is derived as a wage earner and that which is pass-through (S Corps and LLCs) of course.

Even salaried employees. Hard to explain to people that these high wage earners are not independently wealthy and have to work to maintain their lifestyles.

Yes. 100% agree with this as many salaried employees make enough that they are both heavily taxed and their careers are taxing personally in the amount of hours they put in,
