I don't think the WS has changed it's principles one bit. The party has changed somewhat, putting the WS at odds w/ the party. It hasn't changed.

A bit of hyperbole perhaps, but the extreme nevertrumpers like kristol effectively backed Clinton over Trump and worked to defeat the GOP nominee against the wishes of GOP voters. Political Treason IMO. They have no cred with me.

Their fidelity is to ideas and principles. Fair and fine to disagree w/ those principles but there is no reason to impugn their character. Not warranted.

Gee you sound like Hugh H, holding me to a high standard. He is one of my heros, really. IMO we are at war politically/culturally and the WS chose sides and dropped their gloves.
