Why don't they push their states to reduce spending/taxes?

They view this as such an impossibility given how entrenched Dems are there it's an argument that doesn't work w/ them.

They could move

They'll all move to Florida if NY won't change (and the plan passes). That should give NY pause about their policy.
-
I've talked to some who are already planning this.
-
I've seen some moaning tweets from CA people as well. There will be an exodus if they don't adapt.

The irony. They sell their souls to pass awful legislation in exchange for donor dollars. And donors take money away anyway. I
karma. -
This isn't the sort of tax reform they thought GOP would deliver.
-
It's not the kind of reform any of us hoped they would deliver. We all need to get on the phones this morning and do everything we can to stop it.

“They’re running the numbers and realizing that their taxes are going to go up.”

So, the Dems are lying (again), and these tax cuts AREN’T going to the rich?
-
I honestly don’t understand how they can make both of these arguments at the same time.
-
61% of the tax cuts go to the 1% (seriously). But there's a specific sub set of rich people who do worse - rich professionals (investment bankers, wall street lawyers) whose salary is income and are losing state & local tax & other exemptionshttps://twitter.com/taxmarch/status/908417317100498945 …
-
The left saying that is still a dishonest argument. Every time there is a tax cut it will be argued that it’s for the rich. But that’s because the rich pay higher rates and pay more taxes as a result of that.

@SenateMajLdr@JohnCornyn@SpeakerRyan Must be nice to know you’ve sold your souls, and jammed through a partisan tax plan, for naught but the support of the WSJ ed board. -
So you don't want to keep more of your own money? Weird.
