They won't be in the majority for a long, long time. We simply don't care. If Trump does RAISE ACT plus Wall, the GOP will be close to 60

That's what Democrats said about Republicans in 2009. These things are cyclical.

I agree. But we're moving away from issues based elections to elections based on race (lets talk honest). Less cyclical. .

You might be right on the first point but I disagree on the second point. Everything in politics is cyclical. My view.

You're right about that. But basically the Dems are insane right now. Trump nationalists may never have another opportunity. Need to act now

There is a bit more blocking it, namely transition costs. Economically viable Single-payer would require driving down medical wages by 70%+

While also necessitating hiring more doctors to cover more people. Gonna be a hard nut to crack.

The UK has a nationalized higher education system. A nationalized medical school industry is a key part of a nationalized health service

All these problems are fixable. I just wish more Single Payer advocates thought about them and aimed at addressing them.

Single Payer can be done. But it is a bigger project than passing a bill. It requires reorganizing health sector in face of hostile staff

"How will we pay for it?" shouldn't be a question of the budget deficit as much as "where will the HC infrastructure come from?"

I think there are some benefits to the NHS, but the transition would be brutal for the medical profession in way unprecedented in US history

Single Payer Dems answer to Obamacare. MAYBE moved goal posts so repeal impossible. Free market health care complicates plans, if . . . .
