Senate Intel hearing w/ Coats/Rogers did nothing 2 take heat off Trump. Added to drippy nature of matter, even tho nothing damning revealed

I think it is kind of silly that Govt officials have to debunk news stories to please people!

That's a separate issue. But I disagree. Obama was forced to address the IRS scandal because of a news story.

if there was anything that could put Trump in hot waters do you think it would not have been leaked already?

I think plenty has leaked that has put Trump in hot water - not legally but politically. The WH has declined to deny most of it.

Yep. ... But I'd say that politics matters. It's about voters support & ability to get things done on the Hill.

I agree which is why I think we are seeing what we are seeing. The question is at the of the day will it have any long term impact?

Let's see what happens during midterm if Dems lose more seats if they change their tactics going into general election.

They could lose Senate seats but it's unlikely they'll lose more House seats. But can they gain measurably? That's the question.

They could lose votes but not seats in the senate. Manchin could lose his seats and the lady Dem from montana who votes with them.

I say not really. Trump base support hasn't moved much. He is still holds a higher than 90% approval rating with GOP voters.

His base yes. And they'll never move. But his standing w/ Rs outside of that base is not what it was. Bigger implications are on the Hill..

Best thing for Trump to do is aggressively go after leakers and keep his mouth shut.
