Spicer's logic on Yates doesn't hold up. She brought info to POTUS that enabled him to eliminate a prob. His WH has been better off for it.
It's not about believing her. It's about what she did regardless of her opinion of the president. She did him a favor.

My point is that I don't know what her feelings were. The action itself was helpful. Doing nothing would have been damaging.

BTW. I'd be more inclined to accept that Yates was motivated by principle if she hadn't worked for Holder and Lynch and been so quiet then.
