Do you know the R's have the votes?
-
-
-
YES. They have the votes.
-
Interesting. I haven't seen a whip of where R's are. Would think Murk, Collins, McCain, few others might have issues nuking
-
They have issues. Enough of them will go along w/ it anyway.
-
I guess, but they need almost all of them... seems like it's not necessarily a done deal
-
How many votes needed to nuke? It's not 2/3rds?
-
51. Takes 67 votes to change Senate rules. Nuking means breaking that rule to change a rule.
-
Thank you. Tried reading about it but couldn't figure out

if the simple threat of using it is enough for it to be eliminated, then it's already gone.

"Elections have consequences."
@DavidMDrucker@MattMackowiak -
Yes, and Merrick Garland should have gotten an up or down vote.
-
He was not confirmed. It does not matter how it happened.
-
And so we say the same for Gorsuch.
-
How is he going to be blocked?
-
Filibuster. Rs can blow it up, but don't forget that is forever.
-
We simply cannot have a weapon that only one party can and will use.

Garland should have gotten an up or down. I've no issue with Gorsuch except that is should have been Garland this time.

If Kennedy leaves this summer, Trump could appoint ultra-conservative William Pryor next. If Trump is reelected, Ginsburg would be 91.

Let's put it this way. If more than two Republicans balk at the change then you gavel the Senate into a recess and Trump recess appoints.
