Exceptionalism is perhaps the wrong word. The insistence on America first, above all else, was notable.

I suppose, but I'm more w/Jonah's POV here. It was AMERICANISM, not American EXCEPTIONALISM, which has FP associations.

It's more a rejection of Obama's rejection of exceptionalism, without explicitly reverting back. Which is... unique.

That's true. But the opposite of globalism may be "America First," it's not American Exceptionalism.
