@DavidMDrucker Why does POTUS get to make determination? Congress is co-equal and has treaty auth in Constitution. Call it a treaty and vote

@uihawkgrad Let's say they did it your way, called it Treaty & held the vote. Obama wouldn't listen. Then what? -
@DavidMDrucker Take him to court. No worse off than they will be after this Corker vote. Would expose POTUS as lawless once again. -
@uihawkgrad Also a good idea but won't stop him. Court process long. Deal goes through. I'm speaking practicalities here. Not dismissing -
@DavidMDrucker Being practical is moot because both outcomes have POTUS doing what he wants. Why not assert Congress' constitutional powers. -
@uihawkgrad Because it won't stop Obama from doing this. -
@DavidMDrucker Maybe, maybe not. Congress can at least stand up for their Constitutional authority. What does Corker vote accomplish? -
@uihawkgrad Same as your plan. Which is why I don't dismiss your plan. Just note that it won't make a difference. - 1 more reply

@DavidMDrucker Congress should make clear Obama failed to comply with the Corker procedure by withholding side agreements. -
@EmmetONealIII Valid political strategy that could pay future dividends. I was just making clear it couldn't/wouldn't stop Obama/deal
-
@DavidMDrucker I agree. Obama can act without any auth. from Cong. Congress shouldn't give him any by following Corker proc when he hasn't.

@DavidMDrucker Congress can make clear O hasn't complied with Corker and that his lifting of sanctions is illegal and will end w his pres. -
@EmmetONealIII They can do so - but it would have no effect. It just won't
-
@DavidMDrucker True, it won't block lifting of sanctions but would strip of all legality. Executive order should expire with O's presidency.

@DavidMDrucker I agree they can't stop it in fact, though they can deprive of any legal basis beyond an executive order.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
