@DavidMDrucker What? Would Republicans allow the federal gov't to default? No, they wouldn't.
Fans of clean debt ceilings should enjoy while it lasts. If GOP wins the Senate, an 2015 hike will be negotiated, or there will be showdown.

@Kalbelgarion Would the president? -
@DavidMDrucker Obama would allow "No Budget No Pay" like provision. But we'd get into#MintTheCoin territory before Obama folds a la 2011. -
@Kalbelgarion You might be right. But my point is confrontation will be had. But it would be simple. Rs pass bill, Obama vetoes. Ping-pong -
@DavidMDrucker You're right. Also: Rs coming off big mid-term victory will want to test their strength. - End of conversation

@DavidMDrucker . I disagree. They will still need 60 in Senate. Unless they rid filibuster in all forms. Not wise protecting 24 in 16. -
@derek_maclean If Rs run all of Congress they'll have to pass debt ceiling package & force Obama to veto. They'll have no excuses. -
@DavidMDrucker . But what about 60 in Senate. It won't pass Senate. It will deadlock before it gets to him.
