The liberals in my timeline are greatly underestimating GOP resolve to shutdown govt if Obamacare subsidies are not delayed.
@conncarroll The question is whether they've throughout through the politics & have a plan to win the uphill battle.

@DavidMDrucker I'd like to see Obama defend giving out fraudulent subsidies without the legally required safeguards in place -
@conncarroll He might not have to. Has the bully pulpit/immediately in a better position to frame debate. That's why Rs need to think thru -
@DavidMDrucker how could he possibly avoid that question? That is the core of the dispute. -
@conncarroll …my point is, they better be unified & prepared to message this and mitigate Prez bully pulpit. -
@DavidMDrucker yes, they would have to be unified. -
@conncarroll Better scenario: People's rates skyrocket,get pushed out of insurance they like into exchanges.Get MAD.GOP rescues via shutdown -
@DavidMDrucker So you're suggesting they wait til January?@conncarroll -
@bdomenech@conncarroll Better chance of succeeding if they did it when people don't just dislike law, they're mad from implementation

@DavidMDrucker It's not an uphill battle anywhere except your DC bubble and the far right wing rag that employs you. -
@gzimmer83 NO, actually it's very uphill. Despite the law's unpopularity that doesn't necessarily translate support for shutting down govt.
