If media were concerned abt what was in the immigration bill instead of obsessing over whether it can pass, we'd be having a better debate

.@DavidMDrucker It's not about what's in the bill. Just who is for it, who is against it, and whether it will pass.

@SenLeeComs I think it's about all of that - and all of that is rather relevant. Issues alone don't determine viability....

.@DavidMDrucker So much of what pro-bill voices said abt the bill is turning out to be false or misleading. Isn't that a story?

@SenLeeComs I think that's your interpretation of the story and it's one angle. There are other angles & many facets to this.

.@DavidMDrucker True. Which is my point: the preoccupation with ONE angle. It's all "can it pass?" instead of "should it pass?".

@SenLeeComs The "should" belongs on the Ed Pages. I'm not in the business of advocating.

@DavidMDrucker Fair. How about just explaining what the bill says and whether that matches up with what the pro-bill talking points say?

@SenLeeComs Nothing wrong w/ your last suggestion. Both sides accuse press of failing to do this, FWIW. But we are supposed to do that.
