@GingerGibson @jameshohmann Louisiana has "jungle" primaries, as I mention in the story.
@GingerGibson If multiple GOP cands run,it's a defacto primary cuz basically guarantees they all fight for runoff spot & no1 gets 50%

@DavidMDrucker In fact, a crowded field often pushes LA pols to win on the first ballot, not create a defacto primary. -
@GingerGibson OK, so your argument is w/@jm_dc's analysis? That the more Rs that run the less likely the chances of a runoff? -
@DavidMDrucker@jm_dc No, it's with presenting it as a GOP primary when there isn't one. -
@GingerGibson Agree to disagree. This is semantics. If my name was on his article I'd be fine w/ it. -
@DavidMDrucker I'll agree to disagree but my point it it isn't semantics at all. There is no primary. It misrepresents the race. - 1 more reply

@DavidMDrucker Actually, that's not the case at all. See Jindal in 2007 and 2011, Vitter in 2004. Lots of people win on the first ballot. -
@GingerGibson But it's less likely if you have one Dem & multiple Republicans. If the incumbent was an R this would be more plausible.
