If Kavanaugh is indeed confirmed by sometime next week, there are going to be some Democratic strategists rather pleased, tho quietly, that there is not a vacant SupCo seat on Election Day.

Fair point. The thinking is that Ds couldn't get any more energized. WIll crawl over broken glass, bla bla. But a vacant SupCo seat might boost GOP enthusiasm/turnout. FWIW

I don't tend to disagree w/ that altho I don't know that you're wrong. I think there's a difference between voting to save a SupCo seat and voting for the next time one comes around. cc 2016 But I could be wrong.
