I don't think it's that simple. But my main point is that there is not currently a political party that believes in small gov't. There's a party that believes in tax cuts & de-reg, but not reducing the size of govt & relegating things to the states.

I'm not sure how true that is. I just don't think there is a presidential election majority for that agenda. But that agenda still has sway with congressional Rs. If they want to implement it they should try winning over the electorate by talking to voters. They have a platform.
