What this POTUS says tends to dominate the news in a way that can eclipse normal politicians, who would also dominate the news if they were in the WH. It crowds out the good economic message Rs have to tell, even though you're right that relatively few are on Twitter.

Ok, by that same logic, 10 or 15 days before the election trump could tweet a bunch of stuff about how bad democrats are/get out and vote gop and the message gets out. I don’t think that will happen but I also think this is another tempest in teapot

Nothing is lost and nothing is gained because the election hasn’t happened yet! There’s still a lot that can happen.

If trump shuts the government down for his wall that changes things. The conventional wisdom is it will hurt republicans but in January it hurt democrats. The Republican base will show up if trump fight for his key issue and dems will be perceived as pro illegal alien
