"That was one of the most bizarre, awful things I think I've seen come out of any administration." Watch @DavidMDrucker slam Trump's total sellout of US diplomats, with @secupp.https://trib.al/nyjWuy0
What I do is offer reporting (information) and analysis (what the information means, what makes it significant, what sets it apart.) Sometimes analysis veers into opinion. So you're not wholly incorrect. Sometimes what I see elicits stronger analysis. This certainly did.

No, your analysis isn't what sets you apart. This is where you're mistaken. Your analysis is merely opinion. Do you really believe Americans want to hear similar opinions repeated by dozens of journalists? Only those seeking validation of their own.
-
My analysis is subjective but not the same as opinion. And yes, I think there's an audience for analysis, in other words, the significance of particular news, what it means, etc.
-
I will just have to dispute your definition of "analysis". Americans are perfectly capable of determine the "significance of news" and don't need anyone telling them how important something is, over and over again. Again, what is Trump Admin actually doing?
-
As for the value of analysis: Remember when analysts predicted a nuclear war with North Korea? I'm sure they believed they were adding value and had important observations to share. They were wrong. Much analysis is wrong because it's just...opinion.
