How can a defense alliance be relevant any longer when major member is supplying the necessary capital to arm the alliance's biggest threat?

Europe was doing business w/ Russia when Republicans were mad at Obama for offending our NATO allies & going soft on Russia. This doesn't make NATO irrelevant.

China with its economic size and military strength relative to Russia certainly makes it appear so going forward.
