I don't dispute but when he came on the nomination wasn't yet secured & in fact he was brought on to manage delegate strategy in primaries & prepare to manage a potentially brokered convention.

not saying that's nothing, but if Cruz had just been normal and conceded, Manafort, the only living Republican who had experience with brokered conventions, never would have been hired
-
irrelevant.

its relevant to whether or not you think Cruz had any possible chance of success. You're giving an insurance policy against an earthquake credit for the house being built, imo

he definitely was brought it to manage a brokered convention but i think Trump was going to secure the nomination mathmatically with or without Manafort. Manafort was brought in specifically to fight for the delegates Trump had already won because Cruz wouldn't let it go
-
I'm fine w/ your POV but nomination was in doubt when he was brought in. He played a key role in guiding POTUS to finish line, in terms of advisors that played key roles.
-
i guess that depends on how likely you think it was that the GOP was going to over turn their primary system to steal the nomination from Trump. I personally did not ever think it was likely If you think it was, then I see why you think Manafort played a huge role
