the league is trying to kill itself is more like it. i was boycotting the NFL before Trump said a word about them

League def responsible as well for its predicament.
-
i would say its like 95/5 between the league and Trump i've been boycotting major league baseball for 25 years without Trump's help too, its possible for people to just be disgusted by something all on their own
-
Yes it is, although I think POTUS would proudly tell you he thinks he has a lot t do w/ it.
-
Hubris =/= influence. The NFL removed the fun by allowing virtue signaling & offensive gestures.
-
exactly. i watch sports to get away from politics, not to mention that its always tedious to witness the self-importance of grown men who make big money playing a children's game

The players are trying to kill it is much more accurate... fans don’t want virtue signaling and social justice, they want cheerleaders and touchdowns.
-
League also responsible, yes.

If he were trying to kill the league Trump would go after their antitrust exemption.

More than one way to skin a cat, as they say. But that's a keen observation.

@jmartNYT watch the ESPN 30 for 30 on the USFL. This fight is a long time coming. -
Watched ... Wouldn’t be surprised at a campaign rally if potus offers the league $1 for their trouble.

How many Eagles were committed to coming? Their intention was to humiliate the President. He was right to cancel.
-
If they wanted to humiliate him they wouldn't have informed him of the change of plans. But having said that let's see what their explanation is.
-
Fuck 'em I'm glad Trump cancelled.

And who wins in this scenario? You lose the pleasure that comes w/ sports and supporting a team, society loses a unifying activity. We all lose. Great.

Tell those overpaid crybabies to quit protesting a lie. Unless you or the big babies have proof of systemic racism, where it is legal in The United States to discriminate. What laws allow for the discrimination of a race, sex or religion. What police agency allows brutality?

Nah, the league committed suicide by their handling of their issues. The league took the side of the players over the fans. Can you imagine any business taking the side of employees insulting customers and being successful? Neither can I.
