Thirteenth wave of judicial nominees from the @WhiteHouse (incl. elevation of Judge Richard Sullivan from S.D.N.Y. to 2d Cir., which I've been predicting for a while): http://bit.ly/2Hvyzwx - #appellatetwitter

I'm "shocked" that there is not a shred of experience among them in criminal defense, legal services, or civil rights. All people whose careers have been devoted to preserving wealth & power.

I've been telling my progressive friends forever that they need to put the same kind of priority and focus on judicial nominations that the right devotes to them (through orgs like
@FedSoc and@Heritage); the left too often sees noms as an afterthought.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
Do you get any argument? By now many of us on the left understand this all too well.

Not much argument (bc the people who tend to talk to me about this subject understand its importance), but in practice, Dems just don't prioritize this issue (despite the efforts of orgs like
@ACSlaw and@AFJustice).1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
I think the key difference is liberals haven't identified a single issue they can galvanize non lawyers around in churches, schools, etc. at a young age, ie Roe.

I totally agree with you. Gun control in the wake of Parkland made me wonder, but that's really more of a political than legal issue (so few true Second Amendment cases).
