Well, I can understand it a little -- rally the base, get people excited, maybe drive donations and activism.

if they sink the nomination, Trump could easily nominate Pryor or more objectionable candidates. SCOTUS chess is a dangerous game.

I disagree. Short term, yes. But much of Dems' power to effect change has been built on the back of Chevron deference.

Agree in theory, but more likely for new regulation to be made than old removed. Regulatory state creep generally expansionistic.

Also, if Chevron were limited/curtailed, scope of regulations enacted would likely narrow. Less defensible.

Naturally, involves my assumption that Ds rulemake more robustly/prescriptively than Rs. That's been my experience.
