A judge is never under any onus to state his reasons behind a sentencing. The post-sentencing report will state so.

Exactly. Nothing here is "illegal." "Misguided" mostly. I've practiced in front of this judge, and I'm still gobsmacked.

Hard to believe a person w/ this much experience is "misguided" rather than plain biased. Bias confirmation is real.

He's a former prosecutor. If you have read his prior rulings (as I have), you would never get the impression of "bias."
