Pretty difficult; sentencing is generally within a judge's discretion. People could protest outside courthouse I guess.

In theory, but really hard to win. There has to be an error of law, not just a disagreement with judge's exercise of discretion.

A judge is never under any onus to state his reasons behind a sentencing. The post-sentencing report will state so.

Well, in federal system at least, the judge must acknowledge certain factors, etc.
