@StoeszTim@SCOTUSblog@kpolantz By#SCOTUS bar standards,@TomGoldsteinSB is a bargain!http://bit.ly/1MlqlTk -
@DavidLat@SCOTUSblog@TomGoldsteinSB Doesn't mean he is worth it...just too much to pay for a lawyer...not intended as an insult to him -
@StoeszTim Some clients prefer an expensive but efficient partner, as I reported in a@washingtonian cover story: http://read.bi/1RqPT2A -
@DavidLat I tried a case with a very good Madison Ave atty recently..impressive..but no better than me and 2.5x the rate..big city inflation -
@StoeszTim I agree that some are not worth it, but I can't say categorically that NO lawyer is worth $1,000 (or more) an hour. -
@DavidLat Fair argument...sometime you pay for more than skill...pay for connection and reputation factor...but it seems excessive

@DavidLat@TomGoldsteinSB@SCOTUSblog Article says it's a contingency fee case, so hourly rate not quite that high as noncontingent -
@chris_j_walker@SCOTUSblog I think@TomGoldsteinSB's usual rate is at least $1,100 - http://bit.ly/1MlqlTk -#SCOTUS -
@DavidLat@SCOTUSblog@TomGoldsteinSB Yes as it should be for trad'l client. No doubt its contingent here b/c client is local govt.
