If the allegations were so serious, why didn't Senator Feinstein raise the issue sooner?https://twitter.com/ChadPergram/status/1040317311599747080 …

Per
@SenFeinstein (I missed this earlier), the subject of the letter "strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision." -
Here's the rub: Diane Feinstein honored her decision to not press the matter further by pressing the matter further.

He should have a right to confront the accuser, otherwise it is hearsay and anyone can make these allegations about anyone. We have rules for a reason and one party (in this instance) is refusing to follow the rules. That is an insult to all of us.
-
This is a good idea. If the accuser (if there is one?) is willing to come forward, Senator Grassley should immediately schedule a new televised hearing at which the accuser can testify under oath and BK can confront her and offer his own testimony to clear his name.

(Assuming the accuser is a she)

It’s a bs delay tactic to give red state dems cover to vote no and sway Collins. Smear of a good man

What scurrilous accusations have been made by Senator Feinstein?

Your latter point is by itself sufficient to declare the senator's actions scurrilous. Kavanaugh now has, in the eyes of at least some, an asterisk next to his name. That is grotesquely unfair.

By definition, what the public knows right now is not enough--the allegations being much too vague at best, at worst completely unknown, and unsupported by anything other than a letter from an unknown source--to support any particular action. Esp. since the FBI simply filed it.
